Hier telt de menselijke klik. We leggen de lat hoog voor onze rapportages, maar er is altijd tijd voor een goede grap of een spontane koffie-break. Die positieve energie maakt dat ik elke dag met plezier mijn laptop openklap.

IT Strategic Advisor
IT at Odido touches almost everything we do. From technology and customer experience to commercial priorities, transformation and the way we operate as an organisation. That means our CIO is constantly balancing complex decisions, competing priorities and topics that cut across teams and business units.
That is where you come in.
As IT Strategic Advisor, you work closely with our CIO and IT Leadership Team to turn complexity into clear choices, aligned priorities and action. You connect dots others may not immediately see, bring structure to ambiguous topics and make sure important decisions do not stop at the meeting room door.
You are not here to manage the CIO’s agenda. You help shape it.
This is a role for someone who understands technology and business, reads an organisation quickly and knows how to influence without needing formal authority. Someone who can move from a strategic discussion with senior leaders to preparing a sharp decision paper, and from there straight into a cross-functional initiative that needs momentum.
What you’ll do
You act as a trusted strategic partner to the CIO and help make the IT organisation more effective.
A large part of your role is decision support. You structure complex topics, bring together input from across IT and turn it into concise analyses, recommendations and briefings that enable strong and timely decision-making.
You will also represent the CIO in selected steering committees and cross-functional governance forums. You understand the context, challenge where needed, ensure decisions are translated into action and return with a clear view of what matters next.
Communication is another important part of the role. You help build a consistent narrative for IT by shaping Town Hall content, CIO keynotes, internal announcements and leadership communications. You understand that good communication is not about making things sound better. It is about making strategy understandable.
And you connect.
You act as a bridge between IT and teams such as Commercial, Finance, Networks, Customer Operations and Strategy. You translate technology into business language, and business needs back into something IT can act on. You help unblock topics, align priorities and bring people together when ownership crosses organizational boundaries.
When an important initiative does not naturally belong to one team, you may take the lead yourself. That can mean coordinating a strategy refresh, an organisational review, a transformation milestone or another cross-cutting priority on behalf of the CIO.
You also help create rhythm in the IT Leadership Team: shaping agendas, tracking commitments and making sure decisions and actions keep moving.
And finally, there is a part of this role that is less visible but just as important.
You are a trusted sounding board to the CIO on sensitive strategic, organisational and people-related topics. That requires judgement, independence and absolute discretion.
Influence without hierarchy
This is not a traditional management role.
You will work with people at every level of the organisation, often bringing together colleagues who do not report to you. Your job is to create alignment, momentum and clarity, not to become the owner of everything yourself.
Your success is visible when leaders can make better decisions, teams understand the direction and important topics move forward.
At Odido, we believe in people.
We personally review every application. No keyword filters, no automated AI decisions.
That’s why we ask you to briefly share why this specific role at Odido fits your experience and ambition.

We do not hire your AI … (yet)…;-)
Salary scale as published in this vacancy
This role is part of Odido’s IT Management Team, but it is not a director-level position. The published salary range reflects a manager or team lead level at Odido.
In addition to the published salary, the package includes a company lease car or a gross lease car allowance of €930 per month. If you choose the allowance, this amount is paid on top of your salary, including at the maximum of the published range.
We want to become the most human-centred telecom provider in the Netherlands. That might sound odd from an IT or network role, but that's exactly where it starts. Because without stable systems, a reliable network and smart technology there's no conversation, no connection, no trust. You make sure everything runs, even when nobody notices. And that's precisely the point. Even if the customer doesn't see you, your impact is felt in every conversation, every connection and every moment it just works. Because when the technology is solid, people can work, customers can be helped, and trust is built.
At Odido we're there for each other. We see each other's talents. We listen and always look at what's possible, technically, personally and in the way we work together. Because you're at your best when you can grow, Odido gives you all the space you need for that. Together we look at where your ambition and talent lie and make sure you get the opportunities to grow in your own way, whether that's deeper technical specialisation, a broader architect role, or a step towards tech leadership.
At Odido, you build and manage critical infrastructure at a national scale; ensuring reliability, performance, and security for millions of customers. You work on technology that truly matters, with a direct impact on how our network and IT services perform every day.
In return, we offer a competitive salary and a well-balanced total rewards package, including:
- A role-based bonus aligned with your performance;
- 30 days of annual leave (full-time), plus an extra day off after Ascension Day;
- Hybrid working model: 3 days in the office and 2 days from home;
- A €350 voucher to choose your own mobile phone; yours to keep;
- A personal learning budget and access to more than 200 training courses;
- A solid pension plan through Zwitserleven;
- Discounts on your Odido Internet & TV or Klik & Klaar subscription;
- A bike lease scheme for sustainable commuting;
- Employer contribution to your gym membership;
- Access to a wide range of discounts on products and services.
We work together to deliver stable, scalable, and future-proof technology; and we celebrate the impact we make.
In short: you build what keeps us running, your work is visible, and you’re supported to keep growing.
Some things are difficult to capture in a job description.
You are curious enough to ask the question nobody has asked yet. Confident enough to speak up when you see things differently. And pragmatic enough to know that being right means very little if you cannot bring people with you.
You are authentic, sharp and comfortable working with senior leaders. You listen before forming an opinion, recognise organisational dynamics and understand when to challenge, when to facilitate and when simply to create clarity.
You don’t need a large team or formal authority to create impact. This role has no direct line-management responsibility. Your influence comes from trust, judgement and the ability to mobilise people across the organisation.
Above all, empathy, honesty and genuine connection come naturally to you. They are not simply skills you have developed through education or training. They are part of who you are, both personally and professionally, and shape how you listen, build relationships and work with others.
What you definitely bring
- Bachelor or Master, combined with more than 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience working on complex strategic or transformation topics within a large organisation.
- Strong analytical skills. You can quickly structure ambiguity, separate signal from noise and translate complexity into clear choices and recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills. You can communicate with senior leaders, negotiate, challenge and influence at a high organisational level.
- Strong stakeholder management. You build relationships quickly and can align people with different interests, priorities and perspectives.
- The ability to work independently. You are comfortable taking ownership of complex topics without waiting for detailed direction.
- Business and technology awareness. You understand how IT contributes to wider business priorities and can translate between both worlds.
- Strong judgement and discretion. You are comfortable working with sensitive strategic, organisational and people-related information.
Nice to have
- Experience working directly with a CIO, CTO or senior executive leadership team.
- Experience in telecom, technology or another complex digital environment.
- Experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives without formal authority.
- Experience creating executive-level communications, strategic briefings or decision papers.
Even though we have many different colleagues, we look for a few typical Odido traits in every new team member. You need to be able to handle a changing organisation. The world of communications changes every day, and we need to grow along with it. Being naturally curious and interested in the technology we work with and the industry we're in helps enormously.
What I'm going to earn
We value clarity. This is the salary range for this position (gross per month excluding holiday allowance and bonus/commission). This salary range is based on the role, responsibilities, and relevant experience we are seeking. Your starting salary falls within this range, tailored to your knowledge and experience. Good to know: the scale extends further, so you have room to grow—in your role and in your salary.

Yes, Odido offers learning opportunities and a personal development budget of up to €1,000 per year (pro-rated for part-time), to spend on relevant training in consultation with your manager.
At Odido we work with a modern tech stack in which programming languages such as Java and Python and cloud solutions play an important role. The exact technologies vary by team and role, but the focus is on scalable, data-driven and future-proof solutions.
At Odido we work hybrid. This means that as an IT specialist you work partly from home and partly in the office, depending on your role and activities. The guideline is that you are present in the office part of the week to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing, and you can work flexibly from a distance the rest of the time. Working fully remote is not the standard.
For roles within Network Operations, an on-call or standby arrangement may be part of the position. This means you are available outside regular working hours on a rota basis to resolve incidents.
